Spit.  No really, the beach is called “The Spit”.  Gold Coast, Australia.

The city that just doesn’t f**king sleep.  Tokyo.

Oasis.

tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE INANIMATE OBJECT?

You! Are you inanimate?  Do you have enough sentience to be an Animate being?  If not - you just became my favourite inanimate object!

Chinatown in Kobe, Japan.  Best damn dumplings I had in a good while.

Mist.  Too early in the morning. I was climbing up mount cootha and when it started fogging, I was disappointed. When I got to the top and things got brighter as the sun came out and said hi, I was amazed.

Liveful downtown street in Osaka.

Little fact: In everywhere else in the world, these women are called Geisha, but in Japan, these traditional Japanese performers are called Geiko (芸妓) in western part of Japan (Mainly Kyoto) and Geisha (芸者) in Eastern part of Japan (Mainly Tokyo).

Geisha and Maiko each has different outfit and traditions.

This was taken in Kyoto and these girls are Maiko (舞妓), an apprentices of Geiko.  Can’t see in the picture, but their Kimono ties are half length compared to the Geikos.

ty Choomsaram for the correction.

Kobe Luminarie, to commemorate those who died in the Great Hanshin Earthquake in 1995. I was in Osaka at the time, age 7. Got woken up early morning by a growling sound coming from the ground. I thought it was an usual sound when trucks passes by the main road near our house, but soon I realised that sound was being made by mother nature herself.

Strong shake started happening and hell broke out in the house, Broken shards of glass was everywhere, and we thought we were fked over by the earthquake pretty bad. As soon as we turned on the TV when power was back on, we realised we were wrong. City of Kobe was up in flames, people lost their houses and as time passed, 6000+ death was recorded.

Nowadays, this beautiful commemoration lights up the city of Kobe as if nothing has ever happened, but we all know that each of the many light bulbs represents those that has suffered and died in the tragedy. Much love to the survivors of the recent earthquake and tsunami, and prayers for those that lost their lives in the event.
